In 1977, Bruce Eisner moved from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz, California. He became one of the leaders of a group of psychedelic movement activists. That group known as Linkage brought Albert Hofmann to UC Santa Cruz in 1977 for his first public lecture in the US at a conference called "LSD: A Generation Later." The conference was attended by both counterculture figures such as Timothy Leary Ph.D, Alan Ginsberg, Ram Dass, Stephen Gaskin and Ralph Metzner Ph.D as well as early psychedelic researchers including Oscar Janiger, MD, William McGlothlin, Ph.D, Stanley Krippner, Ph.D, Claudio Naranjo, MD and Willis Harman Ph.D

Natural Born Activist

Well I don't know if it was "natural" but I do fight for human rights. I did SF in the late 70's and 80's. I knew Harvey Milk and Scott and organized the storefront marijuana shops. C'mon I packed ice cream on the Castro. Hagen Das. No pun intended. So for all of you Gaybies that don't like my language, I really don't care. I helped make that happen. I have stories that would make you jealous. I also left home at 15 and hitched hiked out to California. What kind of rides do you think I had? But I'm not a natural born killer. Most of my gay brothers are dead. I took care of plenty.

Activist aren't supposed to be liked anyway. Either are writers. When I start having problems with my seizures, a lot of you walked away. The good ones stayed. But I fight hard. I'm 53 and I am still here. I earned my right to talk the way I want.

Don't make judgments. That is what it is about. I love my Gay peeps. Happy Gay Day. I'm sorry that I offended some. I will tone it down.
